RiverWalk Featured New Resident
Pam recently moved to RiverWalk from the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She grew up in White Plains, attended the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, and Indiana University School of Music as a voice major. Pam sang professionally for some time, married and raised two daughters.
When New York City shut down during the early days of the Pandemic, Pam who always enjoyed going to museums, concerts and theatre, no longer could take advantage of the cultural offerings of New York City. And many residents in her apartment building began moving out to their weekend homes or leaving the city permanently. She began to feel lonely and isolated.
Knowing about the fine reputation of the Hebrew Home at Riverdale, she began her search of finding a community to move to. Pam visited RiverWalk with her daughter. When she saw the campus along the Hudson River with the outdoor sculptures, walking paths, and feeling the tranquil setting of the campus, she knew she found her new home.
In the first month of living at RiverWalk, Pam has met new friends, and one resident is teaching her Hebrew. Pam’s other interests are creating needle point tapestries, writing vignettes, and speaking French. Her immediate future plans at RiverWalk is to teach a writing course and organize a French speaking group with other residents.
Pam says she is busy as ever and is so happy to be part of the community.
Welcome Pam to your new home at RiverWalk!
