RiverWalk Featured New Resident
“Meet Bill”
New RiverWalk resident Bill, comes to our community from Rye, New York, where he and his wife, raised a son and a daughter. For over 30 years Bill was the Executive Director of the Greenburgh Nature Center. The vision of the center is to be a leader in the region for environmental education and best sustainable practices, so people may live in harmony with nature and adapt to a changing environment. After his retirement, he was a volunteer with the city of Rye Conservation Committee Advisory Council, dedicated to environmental issues. In his early 20’s Bill served in the Peace Corps and was based in the Philippines.
Making the decision to move to RiverWalk made sense to Bill since he was rambling around in a house that seemed too big. He says the house had too much space and was too much work. He enjoys his comfortable and cozy one bedroom apartment and has all his favorite belongings. RiverWalk’s location was also a factor since his daughter lives on the Upper Westside and his son is in Montclair, New Jersey – easily accessible for both. Bill also likes being close to the Hudson River and seeing it every day on his daily walks along the campus.
Since moving to RiverWalk in November, Bill has joined a resident writer’s group, and would like to organize a walking tour for students to study the many outdoor sculptures the campus features. Bill is making new friends and has introduced his 12-year Yorkie, named Max, to his new neighbors.
Welcome Bill, to your new home at RiverWalk!

Meet Our Team
KATHERINE MURPHY

“It’s not easy, moving from your home of 40 years. When I help each prospective resident get past that thought and realize RiverWalk is their new home, I know I’ve helped them to live a more independent, stimulating life.”
RICARDO PINEIRO
Building Services Supervisor
“When new residents come to RiverWalk, they worry about who will help them hang pictures, change the light bulb, or reach the top shelf. Many of them say having me around makes them feel more secure. It warms my heart.”
GEMMA MAVER
Director of Sales and Marketing
“My joy each day is getting to know and build relationships with people who are interested in becoming part of our community. Their histories, experiences, and contributions make RiverWalk an active and vibrant place to live and to thrive.”
