Giving Through IRA Assets

Thank you for your generous support

Giving Through IRA Assets

Qualified Charitable Distributions, or QCDs, are a wonderful way for donors to make a current gift to Hebrew Home from your IRA without having to take it as income first.  The QCD, also known as the IRA charitable rollover, is a distribution from your IRA directly to Hebrew Home.  Therefore, the funds go directly from the IRA to Hebrew Home to be used for its critical services, bypassing you and a possible taxable event. QCDs may also satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD).

There are certain restrictions that need to be met prior to being able to use this advantageous gift option. Donors must be at least 70.5 years old.  The gift transfer must be from a Traditional IRA and up to $100,000 for a single donor, or $200,000 per married couple per calendar year.

A QCD transfer must be made directly from the IRA to Hebrew Home in order for you to benefit.  If you would like to make a QCD gift to Hebrew Home, please contact Patricia Weiss at 718-581 1848 or Patricia.weiss@hebrewhome.org to receive the forms to use for your transfer.
