The Uniqueness of Gratitude

Every day, 365 days a year, the dedicated team at RiverSpring Health Plans cares for 16,000 older adults living in the community. Our goal is simple- help each individual live as independently as possible, with respect, dignity, and fulfillment. While the goal is simple, the journey to achieving that goal is often complex, and always unique to each person, requiring commitment, perserverance and creative solutions to the challenges that come with age.

This year, timed to Thanksgiving, we asked our members what they are thankful for. We received an abundance of responses – each one from the heart.

Here are a few of them:

Asya. age 92 – I am thankful for life in America and for living through war. I am wishing for peace.

Elvira. age 87 – I am thankful for meeting good people in my life.

Zoya, age 85 – I am thankful for everything: I am alive and healthy at 85, and am thankful for my children and grandchildren.

Nella, age 88. – I am thankful for my children and grandchildren, and am praying that I get a few more years with them.

Yevgenya, age 83 – I am very grateful for this country that I have been living in for 43 years (USA) and to all the good people I have been surrounded by all these years.

Barbara, age 84 – I am thankful for being alive, for my five children that brought me grandchildren and for not being alone.

Yefim, age 94- I am grateful for the great service and all the good hearts of the people at RiverSpring Health Plans who provide my services.

Raisa, age 81 – I am grateful for America and for the happiness I have in old age.

Lidiya, age 61 – I am grateful for everything, especially healthcare.

As you gather around your holiday table this Thanksgiving, think about who and what you are thankful for in your life. Whether a friend, family member, a warm home or good health, take a moment and appreciate those in your life who have made a difference. Even better…let them know how thankful you are.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
